A client called today to ask whom would write the checks, pay the bills, for her disabled husband. I look at my file, saw that her spouse has a durable power of attorney in place, and a trust is force also. A review of how a MA living revocable trust can help in case of disability is here.
The successor trustee was a local CPA whom will take over husband's trust if he (and she) cease acting as trustees. But on a daily basis, her question was whom would write the checks out needed for his care.
The successor trustee (CPA) would have that role. But he may delegate those small tasks to a 'daily money manager.' These are people who take on this role of daily bill paying for those whom need that service.
I'll look for a link to 'daily money managers' in the Lexington and surrounding area and post that when I find it.
